Work stress is reported to be a major factor in health and quality of life. How might an intelligent, personalized system encourage better workplace health?
Many of us will end up spending a large portion of our lives in one workplace or the other. We will spend at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a week in an environment that may not be conducive to our well being. The demands from work often lead workers to neglect their mental and physical well being to the detriment of health and productivity.
Refresh is an office tool set that nudges workers to practice better habits based on their own stress levels and preferences. Through galvanic skin response (GSR) the mouse and keyboard are able to accurately measure stress levels and provide a path to calm.
To improve workspace health we were prompted to create a product that would help improve health and quality of live in office spaces. As a team of three we capitalized on emerging tech in order to empower users to prioritize their own health and productivity.
We conducted Interviews, Created both market and competitive analyses, and read articles and research papers on workplace stress.
Lots and lots of sketching and discussion with team mates about how we might pursue improving workplace stress levels.
After collecting inspiration and refining through sketches we created lo-fi prototypes and then the polished prototype shown in the video.
